Meet Jimi!
Meet Jimi!
Or don't. That's fine. Just know that therapy might be kind of awkward if you refuse to meet.

Jimi Colon Vazquez, LPC
Owner, Therapist, Super Cool Person Overall
Jimi Colon Vazquez is a Licensed Professional Counselor passionate about helping people
discover their authentic selves while empowering their communities through advocacy and
education. They have worked in a variety of settings including grief support groups, therapeutic family housing shelters, in-home therapy, foster care, and a group home for adolescent mothers. With these experiences, Jimi has developed specialties in trauma-informed care,
LGBTQIA+ counseling, play therapy, parenting skills, emotion coaching, and neurodiversity.
Jimi’s educational training was completed at the University of South Florida where they
completed a BA in Psychology and an MA in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling with
a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy. They approach families and individuals
with a combination of solution-focused, narrative, and emotion-focused concepts to address immediate needs while also working to understand the deeper underlying themes and
experiences that impact the ability to live life authentically. As a culturally competent counselor Jimi understands the varying systemic, socioeconomic, and cultural influences that shape our lives and ultimately our wellbeing. Jimi is Puerto Rican and proud of it, letting the spirit of collective community inform everything they do. Relatedly, they are English/Spanish bilingual
and happy to provide services in either/both of those languages. Jimi prefers to approach the
therapeutic relationship creatively, rejecting the idea that therapy should look any specific way.
They believe in therapy being a collaborative effort, where the most important aspect of the
process is the therapeutic relationship itself. Jimi is not interested in asking what is “wrong” with
you and instead wants to know what happened to you. If you are ready to tell your story, work on healing from the things that have hurt you, and finding your true voice, Jimi is here and ready to help.
